TRIP HOP CHANTEUSE
CHLOE DAY
Performing live at the Rumor Mill
Saturday, September 18. 2010 from 7:30-10:00 pm
CHLOE DAY is a mesmerizing performer who beckons her audience into a seductive, dark, and compelling world of electronica/trip-hop/gothic music that is uniquely her own. She is a sensual sibyl, her body undulating and her long hair swaying, taking the adventurous into a forest of musical imagination where things are at once strange and familiar, fascinating and a bit frightening. A sexy chanteuse version of Alice in Wonderland, Chloe leads
her listeners through the dark night of the soul, delivering them through to the other side where, when the lights come up, she suddenly looks just like the sweet, or sweetly dangerous, girl-next-door. Admission to this concert is free, Please come and bring your friends. This is a trip well worth taking.
"Sugar is inviting and vaguely ominous at the same time. Day's voice is as breathy and bone-chilling as ever and her lyrics are more than a tad cryptic. Sugar will have you bobbing your head and clutching the covers." -Albuquerque Alibi
"Chloe's got an exceptional voice and writes a great song too . . . Our webdude gets more e-mails about her than anything else I play." -Les Aaron, KPNT, St. Louis
"With a little girl croon that sounds half-seductive, half-lethal, Chloe Day leaves her audience curious as to whether she plans to kiss them or kill them. And yet, her performances are so hypnotizing, listeners would probably consent, spiral-eyed, to either." –Krystyn Pomranz, The Riverfront Times
"Chloe Day's catalog of folk, trip-hop, and electro-goth tunes is a delightfully schizophrenic genre romp, anchored by her inimitable, bell-clear pixie vocals. Her latest EP veers into the smoky-lounge territory left wide-open by the hiatus of noir-electronic potentates Portishead." —Audrey Mast, flavor pill
"Sexy, sweet, and just a little predatory." –Jim Dunn, Playback:STL
"Rife with dark insinuation . . . Day creates an enchanting body of music that is something else altogether." –Carma Nibarger, Indianapolis Nuvo
"Kiss Kiss Bang Bang . . . Chloe Day’s music resonates like a siren call. . . edgy, breathy, flirty, eerie and eccentric. " –Arizona Daily Sun
"Equal parts seductress and sweetheart, Chloe sings with a velvety voice
that's too hot to touch." –Columbia Daily Tribune
